Achieving Improved Network Subscriber Geo-Location
نویسندگان
چکیده
Future disaster and emergency management requirements are currently under discussion in the US and Europe that will require mobile phone network operators to locate their subscribers to a high level of accuracy within a short time period. Current deployed mobile phone geolocation systems are required to locate the caller to within 125 m. Future systems will require an order of magnitude better accuracy. This paper proposes a method to achieve improved location accuracy with the addition of carrier phase analysis and accurate time of flight techniques to current systems. The resulting combination of technologies has been analysed using a simplified model to benchmark and compare the subscriber location estimate against existing solutions. The system described in this paper shows the potential to meet the emerging disaster and emergency management requirements in complex radio frequency environments.

A Method for Achieving Stable Distributions of Wireless Mobile Location in Motion Simulations
A cellular engineer typically estimates system performance via simulation. Most cellular operations software provides data from which one can infer the average, busy hour, subscriber location distribution, which becomes an input to the simulation. When the simulation does not include mobility, as is typical with Monte Carlo simulations, modeling this distribution is a straight-forward task. How...
متن کاملFeasibility and problems of DSL loop topology identification via single-ended line tests
Abstrac t Digital subscriber lines (DSL) offer the possibility to deliver broadband services over the existing telephone network. Yet, before deploying DSL, the subscriber loops must be tested to see whether they can support high-speed data services, and at what rate. Single-ended automatic qualification is essential for achieving low-cost deployment of DSL, since it allows loops to be qualifie...
متن کاملConstructing elastic distinguishability metrics for location privacy
With the increasing popularity of hand-held devices, location-based applications and services have access to accurate and real-time location information, raising serious privacy concerns for their users. The recently introduced notion of geo-indistinguishability tries to address this problem by adapting the well-known concept of differential privacy to the area of location-based systems. Althou...

This work describes the neural network technique to solve location management problem. A multilayer neural model is designed to predict the future prediction of the subscriber based on the past predicted information of the subscriber. In this research work, a prediction based location management scheme is proposed for locating a mobile terminal in a communication without losing quality maintain...

We are moving towards an era where location information will be necessary for access control. The use of location information can be used for enhancing the security of an application, for critical applications, such as the military. A formal model for location-based access control is needed that increases the security of the application and ensures that the location information cannot be exploi...
